The Magic of Sterling Dietz

September / October / November, 2009  NEWSLETTER

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to the show. This is the September, October, November Newsletter. I’ve been extremely busy these past months and I am now realizing that I’ve put this off for way too long.

In September I dropped my Dad off at the airport to travel to a “Far away Place” in order to secure our new theatre. We were hoping to leave in early October, but due to the nature of life, prior commitments, and the business complexities of working outside of the country, we have been delayed in our departure until the first of the New Year.

Most of my time these past months has been dedicated to preparing for the transition in our location. I’ve been at the studio 3-5 hours every day, practicing illusions, enhancing them, and adding new creations to the show. I’ve made changes, some minor and some major, to all the illusions in my show, so if you have seen the show before, you may be able to spot the changes when you see it again.

In October, I was approached by, and had the pleasure of meeting Grant Landram from Bellingham Alive Magazine. Working together we set upon the task of integrating the social networks of Twitter, Myspace, YouTube, and Facebook with my professional website. After a month of correspondence and revisions, the sites were re-launched with the new changes. If you use Twitter, Myspace, YouTube, or Facebook, I encourage you to add me as a friend in any or all of them. They are updated daily with new photos, videos, and news on where my next shows are going to be. In addition we have set up a weekly video blog hosted on my YouTube page.

A big thank you goes out to Grant Landram and the staff at Bellingham Alive for helping me to pull this all together. Technology is great!

I also want to bring to your attention a new addition to my main website, which was created and designed by Brandon Hahnel. Our photo gallery page has been completely renovated. The Gallery now includes a photo library of each and every show. You will now be able to click on the show that you attended and see all the pictures taken from that very show. The files will be in chronological order from most recent back. Please be patient, I’ve have pictures for over 1300 shows with 200+ pictures in each show. It is going to take awhile for the earlier shows to be posted but I will get them all uploaded as soon as possible.

I recently had the pleasure of going to see Trans Siberian Orchestra in Vancouver, Canada.  James and Julia Gassman (Jessica’s mom and dad) treated me and my family to a wonderful evening of music and lights. If you have never experienced TSO show, I would highly encourage you to look them up. It's the best concert I've ever seen.

The best thing about staying in the country for a few more months, is the ability to do more shows for you! On Sunday, December 13, Jessica and I will be doing our full two hour stage show at the Blaine Performing Arts Center. The show is to help benefit the "Close Up Foundation," which sends high school students to Washington DC to experience Democracy and the political process first hand.

This is going to be a great show, complete with new illusions and new additions to old favorites. I really encourage you to come see the show and bring your friends and family. Plan on having a fun time, we sure will.
